We have done many campouts since our troop started in April 2019. Each campout is an adventure in its own way. Take a look at all we've done!

Gettysburg, August 2022
On our trip to Gettysburg, we completed the Gettysburg Heritage Trails program. We completed the Billy Yank, Johnny Reb, and Historic Gettysburg Trails. We also visited the Eisenhower National Historic Site, National Cemetery, and Visitor Center.
New River Adventure, July 2022
The Summit New River Adventure was a week of whitewater kayaking down the New River and camping along the river. We kayaked over 50 miles and braved many rapids. We also enjoyed a lot of downtime, floating down the river.
Summer Camp at Camp Powhatan, June 2022
We had a great week at Camp Powhatan. Our scouts earned lots of merit badges and really enjoyed each other's company in their downtime.
Shenandoah National Park, May 2022
We had a great campout at Shenandoah National Park. We got there Friday night to see a beautiful sunset as we were driving in. Once our campsite was set up, we walked to the amphitheater for stargazing. On Saturday we hiked 5 miles with 1000 feet elevation on the Rose River Falls Loop and had lunch at a waterfall. We had a break in the afternoon and then had an early dinner so we could climb Stony Man Summit for sunset. Sunday morning we did a sunrise hike and had our Scouts Own on the top of Bearfence Mountain. We worked on some navigation skills and enjoyed seeing all the wildlife in our campsite.
Canoe Trip on Falls Lake, April 2022
We started our adventure at Rolling View Campground and on Saturday we canoed to Shinleaf Campground and stayed the night there. We learned lots of canoeing skills and got a good start on the Canoeing Merit Badge.
Webelo's Castaway Adventure, December 2021
Our scouts helped Webelo Pack 352 on their Castaway Adventure on their way to their Arrow of Light Award. They were taught how to make first aid kits, survival bracelets, meals without using a stove, as well as survival shelters, along with outdoors and leadership skills.
Fishing and Scout Skills, November 2021
Our scouts had a blast learning, and re-learning scout skills, and has a great time fishing!
Saltwater Fishing October 22-24, 2021
Our scouts traveled by boat with a fishing guide and experienced the thrills of saltwater fishing.
Sylvan Heights Bird Park September 10-12, 2021
Our scouts met various types of birds at Sylvan Heights Bird Park, and enjoyed various watersports on Lake Gaston!
Campout Adventure August 20-22, 2021
Our scouts had a great time at their camping adventure of the month. They did ziplining, whitewater rafting, and stargazing!
Summer Camp 2021: Camp Powhatan June 20-26, 2021
Summer Camp is finally here scouts! Our troop went to Camp Powhatan in Hiwassee Virginia for a total of 7 days. Together we earned merit badges, service hours, rank requirements, and had fun!

Congaree National Park May 21-23, 2021
Synchronous Fireflies, and completing a service project at a National Park? Our scouts had a blast at Congaree National Park! We wish we could share the wonder it was to see these fireflies in action, but sadly our cameras and phones can only pick up so much. But rest assured, it was fantastic to see in person!
Horsemanship Merit Badge April 9-11, 2021
Our scouts had an amazing time at Spring Valley Farm. They finished some of the last requirements for their Horsemanship merit badges and enjoyed the company of the animals. Though lets just say it got a bit damp the first night, but they did manage to see a BEAUTIFUL rainbow!
Scout Skills Campout March 12-14, 2021
Our scouts had a fantastic time at Goose Creek. They freshened up on their scout skills, and enjoyed the riverfront view.
Cooking Campout December 4-6, 2020
Working on our cooking MB, and having a blast. We made our own oven, and kept warm by the fire.

Medoc Mountain Campout October 9-11, 2020
We did a five mile hike in the rain, saw lots of wildlife, and stopped along the river for a backpacking lunch. When the sun came out, we had fun playing games in the big open field and enjoyed working on scout skills.
Webelos Build a Better World September 26, 2020
We got to teach a new generation of scouts: Knots, Fire Building and First Aid.
VA Creeper Campout September 18-20, 2020
Camping out on a horse farm and biking 17 miles downhill on the VA Creeper Trail in Southwest Virginia. The Virginia Creeper trail is a historic trail as it used to be railroad tracks!
Grandfather Mountain Ziplining August 21-23, 2020
We decided to head west for our August camping in hopes of getting cooler weather, and it worked! We had a great time ziplining and mastering the high ropes course. We tried our luck at fishing at the trout pond but sadly only one scout caught fish. We made it through some rain on the campout and we were rewarded with a rainbow. It was a fantastic weekend!
Summit Bechtel Reserve July 12-18, 2020
Summer Camp was filled with fun activities - campfires, whitewater rafting, Big Zip, merit badges, climbing, skateboarding, ropes course, mountain biking, canopy tours, shooting, archery, fishing, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, and we even managed to sneak in some service hours.

Lake Gaston June 19-21, 2020
We had so much fun paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, waterskiing, tubing, fishing, and hanging out together.
Shinleaf State Park June 5-7, 2020
This was our intro to backpacking weekend. We hiked into the park on the MST Trail, had some demos on lightweight stoves and hammocks, and had fun fishing.
Online Campout April 25-26, 2020
We did a morning workout, some fun competitions, a campfire, and a Scouts Own service. Scouts also earned some rank advancements.
Patriots Point February 28-March 1, 2020
We all had so much fun touring the aircraft carrier, had the biggest pizza ever, and listened to the talk of a Navy Pilot Veteran.
Fort Fisher Aquarium January 24-26, 2020
We made some shirts, toured the aquarium, and slept with the fishes!
Shinleaf State Park December 13-15, 2019
It was cold and rainy, but we did some orienteering, dutch oven cookies, and some good cooking meals!
Hanging Rock State Park November 8th-10th
It was literally freezing cold, but lots of fun climbing!
Jordan Lake October 19-20, 2019
Scouts caught, cooked, and cleaned fish. Each scout on the campout earned the fishing merit badge. Due to a tropical storm coming our way, it was sadly cut short.
Morrow Mountain September 20-22, 2019
We hiked up and ate lunch at the top, made some lashings, and had knot competitions!
Virginia Creeper August 23-25, 2019
We did a 17 mile downhill bike ride, and a hike!
Camp Powhatan July 14-20, 2019
Our first summer camp was a blast! Half the scouts did Brown Sea Island and half did merit badge classes. Even the rain was fun.
Stone Mountain June 21-23, 2019
We had our first five mile hike, learned how to use a compass, and worked on lashings.
Rolling View State Park May 31-June 2, 2019
We learned many knots, first aid, cooking, earned Totin' Chip and Firem'n Chit, and ended with a Court of Honor.
